Meet Fred Martin, Event Planner    Fred Martin, Event Planner

Fred Martin has been in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years, and his rich experience is reflected in everything he does. He believes that every event, small and large, should match the unique tastes of his clients, with exceptional food and flawless service. Fred plans every event with deft artistry and executes it with a sense of humor.

 

A native of Boston, Fred Martin founded and managed Sweetwater, an iconic music venue in Mill Valley. After selling his Interest in the Sweetwater, he managed the Jules Broussard Band while free-lancing as a large sports and corporate events manager. Some of his work has included the US Open and PGA Golf Tournaments, World Cup Soccer Matches and the World Series.

 

Fred and his wife, Jennifer, launched Fred Martin Events in 1990. They work side-by-side with their team of seasoned professionals to provide their clients with special occasions tailored to their particular taste and vision. Fred and Jennifer are long-time Mill Valley residents. Fred has been a member of the Mill Valley Association of Volunteer Firefighters for the past 35 years, and served on the board of the San Francisco Professional Food Society as Special Events Chairman. His hobbies include swimming and driving his 68 Ford Fastback at Infineon Raceway.

Jennifer thrives on the creative aspect of her work and the collaborative relationships she builds with clients to produce extraordinary events. Her passion for cooking stems from her extensive travels and interests in the ever evolving food culture. Her career developed from sharing that passion. Jennifer’s background includes work in the coffee and wine industries as well as cookbook research. She was at the forefront of the “eat locally” movement, and was an early advocate of sustainable agriculture. Jennifer continues to incorporate local and organic foods into her menus.

 

When Jennifer isn’t dreaming up new recipes, she is riding her horse, Charlie, and competing in equestrian events.
